You can hear it on many recordings made in the 1920s and 1930s. This is the older style from which the more modern bluegrass was based. Instead of taking solos, everyone plays along with the melody of the tune or plays rhythm. Old time was the rock music of it’s era and the fiddle was it’s electric guitar. Although there is plenty of singing in old-time, this session will focus only on tunes.
